Get a Library Card

Books, DVDs, CDs, audio books, etc. may be requested under the following circumstances:

• The item is checked out
• The item is missing
• The item is not owned by the Fitchburg Public Library

To place a request for an item you may:

• Locate the item in the catalog and click on the request button next to the item.
• Call the reference librarian (978)345-9635 or visit the library in person.

Fees

Normally, there is no charge for materials received through interlibrary loan. Some libraries may charge for requested photocopies. If you have question, please ask a librarian.

Fines for overdue interlibrary loaned items vary as each library has their own fine schedule.

We can help you find materials

If the item is not owned by any library in our network we will do what we can to locate an item outside the network or even outside the state.  There may be a small fee for this service and it is best to discuss your needs with a librarian

Remember to always have your library card with you when visiting the library and borrowing materials.
