Story Time

Story Time

The Fitchburg Youth Library holds Story Times several times a week.  They are held in the Garden Room in the Youth Library.  You do not have to register for any of our story times and we invite you to come sit on the floor or move around the room with us!

Tuesdays

Tuesday story time is held at 10:00 a.m. and repeated at 11:15 a.m.  These two programs are for all ages and include movement, music, and stories.  Parents, grandparents, and all caregivers are welcome.  Each program lasts about 45 minutes.

Wednesdays

Wednesday story times are called Toddler Time and are held at 10:00 a.m.  This program is designed for 2 and 3 year olds and their parents or caregivers.  It is a short story time (about 10 to 15 minutes) created to provide toddlers with an enjoyable experience based on books and language.  Music and songs and rhymes and movement are included.  After reading the two or three stories, an easy craft is presented.  The children may stay as long as they like to do the craft, meet new friends, and read more books with their adults.

Thursdays

Thursday story times are called Tale Time and are held at 10:00 a.m.  Created for children who are 4 and 5 years old, the program is based on books and language.  An appropriate craft for caregivers to work on with the children is part of the program.

Group Pre-registration

Though registration is not required for any of our story times, we ask that day cares and other groups pre-register for the Wednesday and Thursday programs to assure that we have enough materials for the planned craft or activity.
